Day 273 - Bird Bowl XIX
Every year I try to make it a point to go to at least one high school football game and support my old high school. I wish the game would of actually been close to make it interesting but the Cardinals decided to make it an extreme blowout. I still had fun being on the sidelines and taking a few shots of both teams.

Day 272 - Hey Steven Colbert
I started the day running a few errands while I waited for all my video footage to convert. When I got home I started working on making a little video of Skrillex, but for some reason I just couldn’t really find the right song to go with all the footage. I guess its a good thing since I got a call from them that I couldn’t have any of it online. As I was watching some tv, I got a call...

Day 271 - Throwback Soda
This day actually kind of just blended into yesterday with the late night drive home from San Antonio. I needed a little caffiene to keep me awake during the drive home so I stopped at a gas station and found a very rare bottle of Big Red made the old fashion way with real sugar. It was delicious and gave me that kick I needed to make it home. The rest of the day I spent resting and catching up on...

Day 270 - The Mothership
I already knew today was going to be crazy when I started running around town trying to get all my errands done. The after noon came and I headed up to San Antonio with Geo for Skrillex’s Mothership Tour. I had decided to just enjoy the show from the back and really get to see the full production of what Skrillex has been working on. I was definitely not disappointed as he put on one of the...

Day 269 - Loss of Memory
I started today extremely early so that I could get the rental car back in time. While I was already up, I decided to meet up with a friend of mine for breakfast and talk about random things. I thought I’d come home and start working on all the Skrillex footage but for some reason my laptop is out of memory. So I spent a majority of the day trying to archive files into other hard drives. The...

Day 268 - Changes Over Time
While on my way out of Tyler, I decided to visit my old friend Brittany who I had run into last night. The last time I saw her she was 16 and hanging out at Starbucks with multi colored hair, dancing around the The Faint. Now she’s 22 years old and the general manager of TCBY. Its just so crazy how many things change over the course of what seems like so little time. It really is awesome to...

Day 267 - East Texas Wedding
I got to sleep in today and get some rest from that long day I had yesterday. I headed out to Lake Palestine to meet up with my old friend Katie for her wedding. I hadn’t seen in over five years, so it made for a great reunion. The day went by so fast and the wedding was fun. The highlight of the day had to of been looking out to the lake and seeing one of the most incredible sunsets...

Day 266 - The Never Ending Drive
Today started out as planned definitely got out of control quickly. I had planned on leaving Harlingen at noon for my drive to Tyler but had a few setbacks and didn’t get out on the road till 3:30pm. The drive was suppose to be over nine hours but I managed to take a few backroads and made it in just a little more than eight hours instead. The drive never gets easy, and specially at night...

Day 265 - Typical Packing
It seems that every Thursday this month has been me spending the day washing clothes and packing my weekender to go off and do something this month. I knew this month was going to be pretty crazy for me, but I had no idea it was going to get this busy. I love being on the go and getting to see old friends though. As a surprise dinner, my parents made some amazing juicy steaks and delicious baked...

Day 264 - Dark & Mysterious
It had been awhile since I had time to do a shoot, specially with Vanessa. We usually do a shoot one a month for her building portfolio. So when we actually found time in both our schedules to shoot, we took advantage. I got to her house and she had gotten a make up artist to go a little more dramatic and do something different. I made a mistake and only took one light to the shoot, but it worked...

Day 263 - A Dying Art
I had to run around town today doing a few errands that needed to get done. One of my final stops was at the film lab in town to drop off a roll of film I still needed to finish. I snapped my last shot there and talked about film while waiting. I was so bummed to find out about how in just a few weeks I won’t have anywhere to go to have my film developed for me. Its sad that so many people...

Day 262 - Just An Off Day
Its Monday and I guess the past two weekends finally caught up with me as I was extremely tired. Since my laptop was working hard on converting all the footage from this weekend with Skrillex, I decided to spend a fun day outside with Zelda. Its always nice to be able to come home and have someone to keep my mind off of work and all the daily nonsense.

Day 261 - A Sunday Brunch
I had to wake up early this morning to go meet up with my friend Alison. We had a great talk about photography, purchasing new equipment, shooting the upcoming Fun Fun Fun Fest, and everything else. When Geo came to get me we headed out for some brunch at a little cafe a friend of his had told him about. After we were done we decided to make the long drive back to the Valley early. I wanted to...

Day 260 - ACL Day Two
After the crazy night before I thought I’d get some rest today before heading down to meet up with Skrillex and crew for ACL. They called me after lunch and we met up at the hotel to make our way to the festival. It started raining, but that didn’t stop Sonny from starting his set and killing it in front of thousands. I had an amazing time hanging out with his team of people and...

Day 259 - ACL Day One
Today started out a little late since both Geo and I wanted to take advantage of actually getting sleep. When we finally got up and going we made it to ACL in time for Foster The People, then caught Bright Eyes and Pretty Lights before ending our first day at ACL with Coldplay and Kanye West. I had to leave the festival early to meet up with Skrillex at La Zona Rosa and start shooting video...

Day 258 - The Rare Shoots
Its rare that I get asked to do shoots of couples or of girls that are pregnant. I usually think its rare since I’m mostly out and about shooting concerts, festivals, and girls being dolled up. When I do get the rare call, I never turn it down though because I feel that everyone should have shoots done to have that memory forever. I went down to the island with Marlene and Victor today, who...

Day 257 - Processing
Today was my first official day back from Washington, so I had a lot of running around to do. One of the many errands I had to get done was drop off my film to be processed and scanned for me. While waiting I ran into Mr. Bimbo which I found hilarious but then I found out that all the photo labs for the store I go to are being shut down. It took me awhile to process the idea that there are going...

Day 256 - Long Ride Home
Today was my last day in D.C. and I had to start my way back home with a walk to the metro so I could get to the airport. I really enjoyed riding the D.C. metro and seeing all the street art on the buildings along the way. The flight home was pretty roomy with no one sitting in my entire row on both flights. It was nice to finally get home and meet up with Vanessa and her mom for some dinner when...

Day 255 - D.C. All Alone
So today is Monday and all my friends in this city have real jobs, which means I had to go out on the town on my own. I walked down to the metro and took it to Arlington National Cemetery to walk around. After waling around and seeing a few amazing things, I figured to take the metro back to the city to check out the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum. I wasn’t aware that the...

Day 254 - The National Mall
So I started this Sunday different than any other usual day one. I got woken up a little early and headed down on the metro with Sara to her church. When we got out we grabbed a bite to eat before going on our adventure. Sara has been living in the city for about 7 months and worked on in the area so she showed me all the sites and even when I complained from walking so much, pushed me to keep...

Day 253 - Virgin Mobile FreeFest
So I flew out to Washington D.C. yesterday because of this music festival I got an email about a few months ago. I couldn’t believe that they actually give free tickets out instead of actually paying for them. So when I actually got mine, I was pretty shocked at the amazing lineup they had for it. It’s really rare that I ever go to a concert or festival without a photo pass and my...

Day 252 - Flying to D.C.
I had to wake up at 6am today only to see Zelda sleeping with her little blanket she carries around with her. I raced to McAllen and made it to my flight, my connecting flight in Houston ended up being almost completely empty and let me have a ton of leg room. Once landing in D.C. I grabbed some lunch and worked tried learning the MetroRail while I waited for my friend Sara to get off work. I...

Day 251 - Channel Surfing
As I spent most of the day running around trying to get everything ready for my trip tomorrow I came home to Zelda flipping through the channels on the TV in the room. I am pretty sure she is getting too smart. I always find packing a challenge when going to places I have never been, and this time was no different. You never know what the weather will be like or where you will end up going....

Day 250 - Home Remedies
Today started out extremely early with waking up with a sore throat that was so bad I couldn’t stand it. I slept walked to the kitchen and made a home remedy that never fails me. It starts with salt, a dash of cayenne pepper and hot water stirred. Then I have to gargle the whole glass and try to fall back to sleep. It sounds horrible but it actually works and by the end of the day my throat...

Day 249 - Toasty Bullets
I spent most of today trying to get ahold of a few contacts that were suppose to meet me for meetings but canceled. When the evening came around I decided to go out with my parents for a small dinner at Quiznos. Its kind of random because the last time I ever had it was when I was living in Los Angeles. iPhone snap shot.

Day 248 - Lazy Labor Day
It was so weird that people take time off on Labor Day, you would think they work harder. I spent most of the day hanging out with my family and running around with them. I decided to check my email to have a friendly reminder that FreeFest is coming up this weekend. They emailed me the full lineup and map of the whole event.

Day 247 - Search & Rescue
Today was such a long and stressful day spent at my parents house trying to recover from the weekend. I was having a nice day at home and went outside to mow the yard when I realized that Zelda had snuck out the outside and when hearing the lawnmower rand for her life. I searched all over the neighborhood and even did some trespassing in hopes of finding her. She was lost for over an hour and I...

Day 246 - Paul Van Dyk
As most of my weekends have been slowly spent in South Texas, this one is definitely different. After spending last night out at the Art Walk in McAllen, I headed to the Pharr Events Center to catch a few friends opening up for Paul Van Dyk. The production for it all was amazing and it ended up being a great night spent with a few friends.

Day 245 - Beer and Art
I had been looking forward to this weekend getting to spend it in McAllen. Tonight was Art Walk and I met up with Katie and Lisa to hang out at Roosevelt’s for a few drinks. I’m glad I went because while there they asked if I would stay the night to take pictures. So I took out my camera and started shooting. It was a good night and definitely the right way to start off the weekend.

Day 244 - When it Rains...
The old saying, “when it rains, it pours” is a great way to describe today. Its no secret that we haven’t had much rain in Texas but it down poured randomly throughout today. It kind of made things a little hard for me since I had to be out running errands for my sister. I actually got caught in the mess while out to a nice lunch with my parents at one of our favorite...
